Personalised map print

Personalised map print: any journey, framed on a real map

Every run, ride, hike, swim, and walk leaves a GPS line. Cairn takes that line and prints it over the real map it traced, with your distance, elevation, and time set below the art. One upload, one keepsake, made to last a lifetime.

Make your keepsakeFrom $45

Drop a GPX from any activity. No account, no sign-up. Any sport, any distance.

Framed personalised map print showing a long running route across a city and coastal landscape on a relief-shaded real map with the route drawn in ember.

Any activity, any location

Run, ride, hike, swim, walk, or paddle: if it recorded as a GPS track and exported as a GPX file, Cairn can make it into a print. The real map underneath changes to suit the landscape, from urban street grids to mountain terrain.

The real map, not an abstract design

Cairn keeps the actual geography, streets, trails, and topographic features as the canvas. The result looks like the place you moved through, which is what turns a GPS file into something worth framing.

A gift that fits every milestone

First marathon, hundredth parkrun, a thru-hike finish, a big ride birthday, a charity swim: personalised map prints work for any occasion because the story belongs to the person receiving it.

From the finish line to your wall, in three moves.

No app to learn, no measuring, no typing your stats. The route does the talking.

The route is the art

The line you drew, over the ground you covered.

Your GPS line runs bright across a real map of the place you moved through, restyled into our warm terrain look so the route stays the hero. Deep pine for the land, chalk for the paper, ember for the path.

Below it sits the elevation you climbed and the stats that made the day yours: distance, moving time, pace, date. Nothing borrowed, nothing faked. The proof is the picture.

Pan and zoom it. Scroll and the same line restyles.

Your journey, on the map it happened

A personalised map print starts with a GPS track. It does not matter whether that track came from a morning run, a multi-day cycle tour, a ridge-line hike, or an open-water swim circuit. The Cairn creator reads the file, places the line over the real map of the area, and frames the geography that matters. The result is not a decorative pattern: it is a record of a specific journey in a specific place, made visible.

That specificity is what separates a Cairn print from a generic wall decoration. The street names, the coastal paths, the mountain passes, and the neighbourhood blocks are all there in the basemap. Your line sits on top of them. The print carries the memory of exactly where you were and the numbers below the map, distance, elevation, and moving time, anchor it to what you did on the day.

Cairn covers the full range of print formats and finishes. A bare matte poster starts at $45 for the Small size, $65 for Medium, and $95 for Large. The Framed Edition, ready to hang with a solid wood frame and acid-free mat, runs from $95 to $215 by size. The same custom map design also prints on a tee for $42, a hoodie for $72, and a mug for $24, so you can build a gift set from a single GPX file.

The finish that earned a frame.

Trained eighteen months for Boston and the medal lives in a drawer. The print lives over my desk. I see every turn of the course before every long run.

Gave my dad his first century ride for his sixtieth. He stood in the kitchen tracing the route across the valley for my mom. That was the gift.
Marcus L.Cycling
The swim across the lake felt like it happened to someone else until it was on the wall, the whole shoreline laid out. Now it's the first thing guests ask about.

Questions, answered.

What activities can I use to make a personalised map print?+

Any GPS-recorded activity that exports as a GPX file: running, road cycling, mountain biking, hiking, walking, open-water swimming, paddling, skiing, and more. If your device or app recorded it and can export GPX, Cairn can map it.

How does the personalisation work?+

Upload your GPX file and the Cairn creator draws your exact route over the real map of the area. You then choose the map style, add a title, subtitle, and date in the label block, and select your print size and finish. The whole process takes a few minutes and no design skills are needed.

What sizes and prices are available?+

Bare prints start at $45 (Small), $65 (Medium), and $95 (Large). The Framed Edition with a solid wood frame and acid-free mat costs $95 to $215 by size. Apparel options: tee $42, hoodie $72. A custom map mug is $24.

Is a personalised map print a good gift?+

It works well for runners, cyclists, hikers, walkers, and anyone who tracks their activities. Popular gift occasions include race finishes, big birthday milestones, charity challenge completions, and personal bests. You can build the print around the recipient's own GPX data for a fully personalised result.

Does the map use real geography or is it a stylised design?+

The basemap uses real geographical data: actual streets, trails, topographic contour lines, and named features from the area the activity covered. Cairn does not strip the map to an abstract line on a colour field. The real landscape is always the foundation of the print.
